Show Us Your Life - Wedding Reception and Honeymoons

So, it's Friday again and that means it's time for Kelly's blog carnival. Yay! I love this. This week it's wedding receptions and honeymoons.

I have been participating in this carnival for the past couple of weeks, and someone asked about the story of my dress. My wedding dress was very unique. I had been married once before, and decided that I didn't want a white wedding dress. I had been searching online and found this dress that I loved. The only problem was that my dress shop didn't carry this dress. I have used Bridal Courture for all of my homecoming and prom dresses, and couldn't imagine working with any other bridal shop. This was September, so we only had a few months until the wedding. I didn't want to risk ordering something that may not make it in time. I started going through dresses, and found this one. I fell in love with it before I ever tried it on! When I tried it on, it fit perfectly! Match made in heaven. I had my first (and what I thought would be my final) fitting in November. Planning a wedding, trying to quit smoking, packing, preparing my daughter for the move, and trying to spend time with Scott had taken its toll. I had put on about 5 pounds. I had also added a long line strapless bra underneath it. Boy, that all added about 2 inches. Thank God that this lady works miracles with fabric. She took my dress apart, put material on each side from the shawl, and put it all back together. It fit like a dream. I was so happy with it. So here are the pictures.

Scott and I didn't go on an actual honeymoon. We sent my daughter to her dad's and hung around trying to get his house together for us to all live in. Alex's room needed painted and decorated so that she would feel at home.

Show Us Your Life - Wedding Receptions!!!

I decided to join in on Kelly's "Show Us Your Life" blog carnival again this week. The theme is yet again WEDDINGS!! More specifically, bridal parties/ceremonies and flowers. My bridal party was a little bit untraditional. My husband wanted his sister to stand up for him. My best friend was my maid-of-honor. I had a good guy friend of mine stand up as well so that it was still balanced. The maid-of-honor walked down the aisle with him, and Scott's sister walked down the aisle with his cousin. We called her the best lady on the program and it all worked well.

Our Christmas Wedding

So Kelly has this wonderful blog carnival every Friday. This week's topic: WEDDING DRESSES! Yay! I love to show off my wedding pictures and reminice about when my wonderful husband and I got married. You know, when life was easier. (Oh, wait, different post. Sorry!)

I love this picture. The dress on the left is my daughter's flower girl dress. My dress is just beautiful, even in black and white hanging on the hanger.

Pastor Schultz had just pronounced us husband and wife. We both have these goofy looks on our faces. We couldn't believe that we had just done this! (We had only dated 5 weeks and been engaged 3 1/2 months!)
